Coach Program Specifics

Thank you for your interest in our Coach program! We hope that the information presented here will help you identify if the Coach program is a good fit for your organization. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or need additional information.

PLEASE NOTE: All current coach policies are subject to change from year to year and based on grants and funding. The information below is an example of a typical coach and host site experience. All requirements, payment information, and details are outlined in the host site and coach contract.

Basic Details about Coaches:

  • Serve youth in urban areas of demonstrated need.

  • Provide at least 70% direct service to youth and perform other program-related responsibilities for the host site organization.

  • Enable organizations to increase their capacity to serve more kids and serve them better.

  • Receive an End of Service Term Award upon successfully completing their term of service. The award may or may not be regulated by the government (depending on the funding source of the coach). Up2Us Sports encourages all coaches to spend the completion stipend towards educational purposes.

  • Receive training in youth development and mentoring strategies focused on a trauma-sensitive approach to coaching.

  • Serve in one of three slot types over the course of 8-12 months:
