Up2Us Sports Participates in 9/11 Day of Service in NYC

The Up2Us Sports Coach and VISTA teams spent Monday, September 11 and Tuesday, September 12 honoring and remembering those lost and those impacted by the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The Up2Us Coach team in NYC participated in a 9/11 service day project together in honoring and remembering those that were impacted by the events of September 11, 2001. The team supported a meal packing event that collectively packed over 1 million meals that will be distributed to food insecure families throughout the city. Together alongside other New Yorkers, the Up2Us Sports team ensured that volunteers had all necessary supplies, restocked meal packing tables, collected completed meal pack boxes once fully packed, and kept the area free from debris.

The Up2Us VISTA team nationwide participated in a virtual event designed to Unite our members, Honor those affected most by 9/11 and pledge service in communities across the country. VISTAs were given an opportunity to virtually tour the 9/11 museum, gaining perspective on the events of 9/11, express gratitude for the things in their life and pledge an act of service, small or large, in honor of those affected by the events on 9/11.
