Update from Up2Us Sports’ Founder & CEO

Dear Up2Us Sports Family,

I hope everyone is taking good care. In this time of uncertainty, we are reminded of the important role that Up2Us Coaches and national service can play in addressing issues of community health and safety.

Up2Us Sports is well aware that protecting our communities at this moment means minimizing exposure, and that this will inevitably disrupt some of our programs. The health and well-being of our coaches and the youth they serve is of utmost importance. We have issued mitigation guidelines to ensure that coaches understand how to keep themselves and their families and communities safe. If our coaches are in good health and want to continue their service, we will allow them to pursue pre-approved and safe service opportunities to support their communities. This is, after all, exactly what these incredible coaches are trained to do - to support and mentor our youth during tumultuous times, and to rebuild a sense of normalcy when the challenge has passed. This is the power of sports-based youth development.

Up2Us Sports will continue to innovate ways to build caring relationships during this time, as we stay up-to-date with shifting guidelines from health officials. Over the coming days and weeks, our expert SBYD trainers will be sharing reminders on how to practice self-care and inspire health and well-being for our coaches, our youth and their families. Please be sure to follow us on social media (links below) for these tips and updates and refer to CDC prevention recommendations for the protection and safety of yourselves, your family, and the greater community.

We give profound and heartfelt thanks to all of our supporters and partners for making our work possible.

Sincerely,

Paul Caccamo
